CVC Flashcards Short O Sound
Teacher Tool and Material for Beginning Reading are now Available in Creative Guro!
CVC is an abbreviation for consonant-vowel-consonant. CVC words have three letters and begin and end with a consonant. The vowel in the middle of a CVC word will almost always be a short vowel sound.
Reading CVC words requires readers to have strong phonemic awareness (knowing that each letter makes a sound and what sounds they make) as well as the ability to manipulate those phonemes—to break them apart and reassemble them. This allows readers to decode the individual sounds made by each letter and then blend them together to form words.
Below are CVC flashcards with short O sound that can be used to enhance learners' reading ability during their early years in school.
